The GUI for the xperia calculator hasn't changed since lollipop 5.0.0
Strangely, my updated Z3c doesn't have that bug.

Thought that is pretty ridiculous, you can just install a calculator from the play store. You shouldn't have to in the first place, but if you want something simple, there's Google's calculator.
