I can't tell if it's actually that troll guy again but there are mitigations that are enabled system wide in OpenBSD that prevent misbehaving applications from causing damage regardless of where they come from. If your application crashes due to these mitigations then it's doing something it shouldn't be and OpenBSD is preventing damage.

Sometimes I shit on BSD on /g/ despite not knowing much of anything about it and actually not having any issue with it, I even think openBSD looks really cool, if only really conceptually in my understanding of what it tries to do and how some of its projects are used elsewhere than as something to actually use.

Linux drivers for everything except for (off the top of my head) proprietary graphics blobs and printers are 100% automatic and included with the kernel. If you use Mint I'm already guessing you have your drivers for your graphics.

These are all the chipsets that OpenBSD supports, FreeBSD is probably a little further along than that so expect that one to work as well.
