My trusty 4850 died trying to play mankind divided.

In my area I can get both an RX480 8GB or a GTX1060 for 250$. What's a better option? I have Windows 7 so DX12 is irrelevant to me. My resolution is 2560x1600.

1060 then, not the 3gb version though

half of AMD's marketing speil was how the 480 would get better and be more futureproof for muh dx12

If Dx12 is a nonissue for you then 1060, but the performance is about the same.

What's the rest of your build? I would imagine if you have a 4000 series card the entire system probably needs a revamp or you'll just bottleneck the new gpu anyways.
