Has anyone ever used the E300s? Considering whether to buy 4 of these for my NAS enclosure since they are cheap...

I'm not sure if you're being serious or if I should expect no less from /g/

Performance is probably meh but if you need the space it's a steal

Considering that seagate and WD made shitty muh green HDD's in the past, you should wait for more informed opinions on the Toshiba's design.

I remember that some informed anons mentiones on previos HDD related threads that you should think before buying anything from toshiba with less than 4TB

Your reminder of which board you happen to have stumbled upon.

Why would smaller than 4TB Toshiba HDD be a problem? The smaller the drive, chances are, the fewer the platters. The only issues with "Green" HDD, in WD case anyway, is that they aggressively park the heads which can lead to mechanical wear.

Got one for cheap general storage

Seems to preform pretty average, which is great for a "green" drive. Last seagate eco i had was slow as molasses.

If my maind serves me right, they mentioned something about the design they used for that drives were faulty.

Again, why not wait for more informed opinions? it could not hurt to do so, those disks are not going anywhere soon

If you want to then go for it, but be careful

is WD black any better than WD blue these days?
