I've been using Palemoon for ages, but after update X some time ago it has been crashing and lagging annoyingly much.
Is there anything similar to Palemoon, pretty "secure" browser which is good in your opinion?

palemoon = old legacy firefox crap,
get chromium, it is the "not too googly" chrome browser
Waterfox

When it comes to spying users, isn't it Chrome/Firefox level?

Yes. Palemoon is the only option.
Why not just unplug the dildo and use Firefox proper?

Since when is Firefox spying on its users? Oh right, never.

Seamonkey is dead, sadly. I mourn its loss every day.

cyberfox, runs fine for me, even with my 26 addons and 20+ tabs

Good goy, firefox doesn't use drm, doesn't use several proprietary blobs, does not include ads tailored to you, does not sell your browsing history and other info to advertisers, does not telemetry the shit out of you and does not have backdoors solely for the sake of the government. Good, good goy.

It is not dead. The nightlies are still coming out. The latest one which was for Windows came out in August. I think SM might die once Servo is finally released though.
