I figured out how to fix it by resetting the resolution but how do I make it stop?

I have the same issue under Ubuntu Unity, Mate, and gnome. I even had it under Arch installs. Dmesg after "color trip" show Radeon driver shitting itself. VCE Init fail. What I could figure out from the googling I did was that it was a driver bug. Makes life sad senpai...
