Why is he so incompetent?
>>
What kind of data do they have?
>>
>>56355595
What kind of data could a youtube channel possibly have?
>>
>>56355476
He does not work in a developed company in which this would have been a standard of operation.

I am sure he knew backups would be nice but probably saw them as too expensive to buy for something that is not a necessity (in his eyes)

He made a mistake and learned from it. I would hardly call him incompetent based soley on this.

Though I have never seen one of his videos so maybe he is just an idiot

>Alien space tech, cure for aging, missile launch codes, ...

>You know he stuff you'd expect to find on a video web sever.
>>
i mean, it's understandable considering his roots--he never had exposure to standard operating procedures of big companies.
>>
>>56355476

>he

Good one.
>>
He actually recovered all the data in that clickbait title.
>>
>>56355476
They do it for the views.
>>
>>56355656
Porn? Idk, videos but why
>>
>>56355476
I watched the first 10 seconds of each

Apparently they were uploaded in reverse chronological order, and the data loss happened because the RAID array failed while he was in the process of transmitting all of the data from the master backup server to the slave backup server.

The only thing he did wrong was not building and filling both at the same time

You don't know how LMG operates.

He doesn't need to pay for any of his stuff because all he needs to do is make
a video about the setup process and Seagate or whatever will ship all the
drives to him for free.

He's using Microsoft Windows + hardware RAID cards. What exactly do you expect?

Didn't take long before the hardware RAID card crapped itself and started corrupting the array.

He should have used ZFS

Holy shit these videos are hilarious

my sides have no face

Idk anything about file systems, care to explain?
>>

What's wrong with it?

kek

btrfs is an experimental file system with many known instances of silent corruption. Most of its features are unstable, and some of its algorithms are catastrophically inefficient (good luck replacing one of those 8 TB drives linus, it will probably take you several weeks)

btrfs' development is mostly ad-hoc bolted-on crap to implement whatever feature they wanted rather than carefully engineered to maximize data integrity

t. I used btrfs for 2 years or so, have since moved to ZFS

>implying its not just an excuse so he can show off new tech
How do you idiots fall for this?

He never thinks when he sets up his overpriced junk, remember when he decided to make a DIY router.
>kills the first motherboard with a shortcircuit after getting metal dust on it .
>kills the second with an anglegrinder while trying to remove the beepspeaker.
>third doesn't boot because the CPU isn't compatible.
>PSU doesn't fit.
>>
>>56356056
If one reads the documentation for brtfs, including various pages of the btrfs website, they indicate that btrfs is not yet considered stable.
>>
>>56356107
Not gonna do that when im lying in bed ready 2 sleep.

>>56356095
He doesn't have to think anymore, everything gets sent to him on request, he has no real competition. "Wanna blow up a titan xp and 6950x for a video? Here have 3 of each!"
>>
>>56356079

Thanks for a straight forward answer.
So unlike /g/aymen
>>
>>56356079
the data never made it to the 8TB drives.
the joke is that he realised that he should do backups after the first raid controller started shitting the bed so he build a backup server with those 8TB drives shilling about it in a video just to make another video a few days later how his production ssd powered server completely died before he could backup all the data.

it just showcases that he comes from the windows gui consumer corner and got burnt the moment he went business-grade not to mention that he hired a couple of retards who know even less than he does.
>>
>>56356204
He claims he was in the process of building the second backup server while the first one died. But you're right, he's probably just bullshitting to save some face
>>
>>56356204
They're all a bunch of marketing people. They read everything off a script that was written by whoever sent them the product.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
