do they call it a heatsync because the goal is to "sync" internal and external temperatures? also, air-cooling general

It is a reference to the 90's boy band: NSync.
Reapplied thermal paste from laptop after 3 years with it. Feels good
so it's been almost 2 year since I build my PC and I'm thinking whether I should replace thermal paste. Temps are cool btw (mainly because it's NH-D15 on stock [email protected] 1.2v)
bought it to be quiet

I ended up being gifted a 8 year old PC for free. Ran hot as fuck and louder than an ovulating bitch.
Dear god, taking off that 8 year old thermal paste, cleaning out all the dust, and reapplying fresh, new paste was godly.
It's so quite now.
Also, if you care about noise, I highly suggest getting a SSD.
BTW, still using the stock cooler and one exhaust fan

If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

Was thinking the same 2bh. I'm always having a little heart attack every time I touch a 1320g cooler

Here mikuposter
In my case my computer got serviced because screen got burn in... Dell tech service decided to change mobo so yea, fuck me even thought the motherboard was fine. Tech did a bad thermal paste apply and shat all over it.
So, laptop was having structural problems with hinges, so decided to change palmrest and bottom cover, and good as new... As a bonus, decided to clean mobo with contact cleaner and reapply thermal paste. Good as new. To be honest dell laptops are not that bad if you known what you are doing and take your time, but tech support is shit... Better to do the service yourself and ask dell to send you pieces if you known what you are doing 10/10.
PNY ssd installed. Feels comfy and since its way better for shock resistance than hdd, it's a must... Looking foward to changing ram sticks

Watamote to be honest. I guess mostly because i can relate to her... But mostly because i dont that many people to interact with, many people are dumb as rocks, and that is considering an engineer ing department
> and actual nice thread not filled with shitpost, I'm surprised
>>56348885
Do you have the termal conductivity of it? Might help you, but be aware, thermal paste unless buying chink shit, is going to work just fine.
>>56349089
love live because it's constantly posted on /g/ and I decided to try that phone game and loved it
>>56349299
I'll stick to noctua as it's like $7 once a few years
>>56349397
Agree. Anyway, if you want to improve temps
> A. Cooler room. The differences in temperature will give you a better heat transfer
> B. Cooling system with good airflow. At higher speed you will have a better convective coefficient, which means better heat dissipation.
> C. Water cooling system. Meh, i am not into the overclocking scene anyway and benefits are not that great
>>56348885
Get Thermal Grizzly. Noctua is shit.
