Its Asus. Asus products are bad
>>
Expensive
>>
>>56339336
what the fug, that is horrendous
>>
It's too expensive, I waited a year for this monitor and they released it at £800, I mean what the fuck, the QHD IPS monitors at work cost £300 a piece, this monitor is not worth more than two 27" professional CAD panels, the price has since dropped to £700 but it's still not worth it with the IPS glow lottery, do they seriously think these monitors are worth that much? How much is it for you Americucks?
>>
>>56339243
what are you talking about willis?
my grammar is aesthetic as you
>>
When you have a laptop.
>>
>>56339380
no, they're alright
>>56340066
because this monitor is 165hz wew
>>
>>56339092
If you can't afford it
If you need a larger one
If you prioritize higher contrast and gamut

>>56339336
That's IPS glow and it's normal. Pic there was probably taken with a shitty mobile phone camera which has overexposed there, exaggerates the glow because on wide angle lens you'll be right next to the screen and the IPS glow is more pronounced when looking a panel from an angle. Also there is something else reflecting from the screen. Or its just a broken screen who knows. I'll take a picture of my PG279Q to show how it looks like.

>>56341335
165Hz is nothing over 144 Hz which is quite little in practice compared to 120 Hz too. Color accuracy(especially after calibration), total image display time and IPS panel thanks to which the viewing angles are good is rather rare combination to come by.

Taken with an ultrawide lens, 15mm 135 eqv. The blue-ish tone on the left side is due to light on the outside. My room is not pitch black and I can't make it so.

And then with a 85mm 135 eqv lens where the angle of view to the screen is much more perpendicular. Suddenly no IPS glow.
>>
>>56341795
And if someone noticed, those red dots are malfunctioning ones on my camera sensor.
>>
>>56341688
your professional monitors are 60hz. doesnt matter if 144 or 165hz they're gayman shit
>>
Well then, what GPU takes complete advantage of this?

1070 must be too weak, right?
Need a 1080 as a minimum.
So you have to shell out 500 bucks for a monitor and then a buttload more for a GPU.
Fun
>>
>>56342158
>Well then, what GPU takes complete advantage of this?
GTX 900 -series and newer and that's a requirement for the 165 Hz refresh rate vs 144 Hz which is usable on almost any GPU. It's not meaningful however, difference between these two is nonexistent.

>1070 must be too weak, right?
>Need a 1080 as a minimum.
For what exactly? This is the same out of thin air performance requirement argument again. I have a 1080 and I can dream of running new games at the maximum refresh rate or above if I want to use highest graphics settings. That's how it generally is right now, on current drivers, on the most demanding current games that are out and when you only fiddle with the settings the game allows you to. It's arbitrary and vague as fuck. That doesn't mean I don't benefit from it.

>So you have to shell out 500 bucks for a monitor
Costs nearly double here.
>>
>>56339092
Pretty much the price
Also, over 1080p gaming is a meme, it kills the UI in most of the games
>>
>>56342462
Obviously you have never played at 1440p it's perfectly fine
>>
>>56343806
No, retard, 98% of games don't support UI scaling past 1080p or scaling at all, you get a broken small as fuck unreadable UI/ingame text
>>
I have one, inacurrate colors and lots of fucking flickering. Light grey color also makes it cheap and shitty

Also fell for the Freesync meme because AMD cant into high end
>>
>>56339092
>>56339138
>>56340066
are you saying a fucking 1440p TN monitor is £700?
>>
>>56343907
>98% of games don't support UI scaling past 1080p

You're retarded, mate.
>>
>>56344141 (Me)
i mean, at this price point you may as well go for a 165 Hz IPS screen
>>
>>56340066
>>56344141
I feel bad for you eurofags
I paid less than $400 for this monitor

also, it's a 1440p 144hz monitor. Most of the high-res + high refresh rate monitors out right now that are IPS have shitty backlight bleed half the time

>>56345148
Reading this on my pixel perfect xb270hu feels good

too bad the human eye is nothing like an 85mm lens, hence asus bleed looks like shit.

Get the 1440p 144hz, my best pickup of 2016.
>>
>>56350201
Don't confuse it with backlight bleed and they uniformity of the display brightness depends how far you are sitting from it.
