What does /g/ do with their old phones?

I found the old Galaxy Note 1 that I used some years ago and I'm not exactly sure what I should do with it. I doubt it would sell for much since it's basically ancient at this point.

Has any anons found any creative ways to use their old smart phones?
>>
use linux deploy and run misc servers on them
>>
Buy throwaway sim card with unlimited data, go to public spot with no WiFi, use zanti app to make hotspot and save all packets that go through the phone. Helps to have a large storage device. I have a 128gb flash drive hooked through usbotg. I either sit with my phone there or hide it.

The wireless modem in N7000 allows you to turn on monitor mode.
You can do all kinds of shit, from cracking WEP networks to just kicking everyone around from every single network.
Search for bcmon in google.

Not gonna do you well since most sites are on https right?

Buy a throwaway SIM card and don't tell anyone your number:

1. Use it for two step authentication purposes instead of your main phone (security improvement against social engineering).

2. Use it for botnet apps you avoid on your main phone like Viber, Skype, Tinder....

3. Use it as a phone you bring to the gym - Stronglifts/Starting Strength/5-3-1 apps.

7 -> ????

I have a couple of ZTE N800's removable battery oc's well dual core mSD. They make great cheap car cams or around the house/apartment. They were around 20 dollars new three years ago. You can get similar nowadays with better hardware and especially the camera. It would be cool if there was a ribbon cable adapter to change out the touchscreen/screen so you could so something like the raspi mirrors among other things with it. The other hurdle is how locked down the device is IMO.

Because you only discuss subjects vaguely related to a board's topic on 4chan. That's why /g/ only shills consumer tech, /sci/ only has math circle jerks, and /fit/ only talks about fucking twinks

I like how you think anon, how about handling way too many concurent clients? Normies go into free wifi and they all want to stream HD youtube.
What else do you use or you just capture packets?

Nothing, I use them till they break.
>>
>>56340307
do you even understand MITM? There is no way to read the packets after the initial handshake which I expect will have happened before they connected to your network

unless of course you have broken RSA

Surprising amount of porn goes through it for places like coffee shops, high schools and public parks. It has an SSL stripper built in but for sites with smart designs it doesn't work. The most interesting things I've captured are some local bank accounts info, some credit card info, and a few miscellaneous accounts on websites. I could absolutely use this maliciously and nobody would know, though I haven't yet, nor will I ever probably. Try it for yourself. I've only done this 4 or 5 times but I have lots of info.

>>56340444

It's not a meme. Only $35 and a free cricket sim and that's unlimited everything. It's what I use for my own phone too. If someone told a store owner that their data on the non existent WiFi ran out, they would be confused or suspicious of something.

>>56341054

Had no overuse problems yet. I use a oneplus one for it and it's battery holds up fine as well as 128 GB storage. I sift through the info often if I'm there with the phone too so it doesn't have a problem with gigs of data. Not many people use a not of data at once either. I think that just expect that the WiFi is slow anyway.

I am not very advanced so I just script kitty around with zantis packet saver stuff.
>>
>>56342919
I might try this, I never use wifi unless I'm the owner of the connection and recently I played around and setup my own vpn just in case I ever need it while travelling.
I will look into this, probably with worse results than yours because I'll probably try to use an old Samsung phone I keep.
>>
>>56342919
So how do you set it up? Do you need to do anything other than installing and enabling the service? I'll check YouTube videos and a few sites later.
