Ransomware hasn't been a huge issue for quite some time now, it's hyped up as fuck. There has been like 2 or 3 cases where it was huge but other than that it's not that hard to deal with and anti viruses are starting to get better at detecting it.

Tell that to the users in the company I work at.
The fake emails they send are pretty good at first glance.
Polymorphic ones are a bitch to detect too.

Incorrect.
Ransomware is very effective with enterprise locations as businesses usually do not have the time to fix the situation and they actually opt to pay the ransom. Large businesses would actually stand to lose more money if they waited for their IT staff to remove the ransomware from computers than to simply pay a ransom of 500 dollars.
They eventually make life in prison
