Recently switched to Linux after using Windows my entire life and I don't ever want to go back. Windows 10 was the final nail in the coffin.

Give me one good reason why you're not using a Linux distro.

I dual boot, but I'm in Windows more often than Linux because only about half of my Steam games are Linux compatible, and very few of them are the ones I want to play.

>>56338911
>It's way better optimized than Windows
This is a new argument. I like and use the big three operating systems, so don't take me as a hater. macOS being better optimized than Windows though?
Aside from Windows having to deal with strange chipset drivers, C-Media, Realtek, all that nonsense that can potentially bluescreen $200 laptops, I don't see how it's less optimized? For all its flaws and the service and cheap direction it's going, the lower level of NT is quite impressive. Well optimized, fewer kernel calls needed than Linux or Darwin to perform the same tasks, small sized micro kernel with lots of modularity as a result. When they still employed professionals rather than everyone cheap enough, they made some solidly good software. Take calc.exe. Extremely lightweight, fast and simple. Not advanced, but no bloat either; an instantly starting program from Win95 through 10.

NT as a system is good, they're only slowly trying to beat it down with lesser employees.

Not all GNU/Linux users are the same person. There's tons of different use cases.

I'm typing this from emacs on my laptop, but some people might need a Beowulf cluster.

Regardless, the Unix philosophy is that everything should be modular. One device should perform one purpose very well. So his idea better follows the Unix philosophy (although as of late game consoles are called "home entertainment systems" and no longer follow that philosophy...)

Technically Linux can be made faster than Windows if you use a tiling WM or no X server at all but its like saying you become lighter after sawing both your legs off.

I actually liked Windows 10 a lot, being a humongous Linux faggot for a longest time. However for some reason it raped my laptop fans big time and it had riiidiculous bug of counting waking lappy with usb-mouse as "remote call", making it so that laptop went to sleep after few seconds unless I deleted certain registry keys after every update. Not only that but Intel GPU drivers of muh X220 were practically abandonware. Bunch of GOG games just didn't work.

Then I heard MS is bringing PowerShell to Linux and decided to return. Hilariously I can now play Windows versions of Morrowind and KOTOR2 again on my laptop via WINE, something I couldn't do in Win10. Full clap kek.
>>
>>56333207
It's already installed and properly done, and I need my laptop to actually work, not to come broken or to be unable to support software I need.

Windows can do everything linux does, and it just work immediatly
But if people like linux because computers are there hobbies and they like messing up with things sure, that's none of my business.

tl;dr linux is less functional than windows

I mean lets get real for a moment. You install windows 10 in about 45 minutes and for most linuxes its about the same but remember. Biggest base linuxes are about 1 gigabytes or 2 while windows 10 can be more than 5 gigabytes of data. And what happens when you open them. On linux there are about 2 functional buttons, 3 are nonfunctional and in those two buttons there are some pictures to play with. Maybe slide down or up. On windows though, you feel like a god. Its professional its fast, its all functional. You have a godlike user interface. The thing that linux does not have. You have those two buttons in linux, but you still search google for codes to write in terminal. Linux is free because its not worth a penny. Nobody would sell a paper without taking the money. Just not sure why people still buy android while windows phone does 10 times more. Trust me. When you work with windows you know some genius ground breaker dedicated himself to give you an operational os

Windows 10 took 2 minutes to wake up from sleep, 3 minutes to turn on and constantly used 100% of my hard drive on a decent i7 laptop.

It's STILL just a fucking web-"app" running in a chromium instance.
You're literally better off just running it in your browser because then you at least get to make the text smaller.

>Dualboot Masterrace

Debian:Win7 , separate ssd's

At one point Win/sdb/ would boot from /sda/ Grub2 stuff for debian. Tried a devuan install to dualboot it on Win's ssd, Win won't boot from Grub on sda now. Win7 is the shit(gaymes, Flash, unrestricted as fuck) but I like my zsh cuz it's MY zsh.
