This shit would save 50% of the time of all USB hassle.
The circular jacks last a hell of a lot less than USB though. It's not worth it.

USB c is pretty comfy tbqh
What the fuck does that cable even do? It obviously can't carry power.
You've done it. You found a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. What's next on your stop for this musical mystery tour?

>What is 1-wire
>>56332669
4 pins in USB = 4 insulated wires the same gauge as USB = 4 connections on the 3.5mm jack. 5v+ ground data+ data-
Both computer and device would need an ASIO driver installed.
>>56332633
fuck off with that comfy shit
>>56332731
Wait, you hate USB-c or my vocabulary?
>>56332712
All you do is re-wire, take your case's usb front panel and strip it, reconnect the female 3.5mm jack and create a male adaptor for your usb device with another usb female.
>>56332585
Sorry but that goes against the USB spec
Why is everyone so mad about the fact that a one-directional plug is fucking retarded design wise?
>>56332753
You could make one out of a 4 pin molex connector if you really felt like it, I don't give a crap about spec, if it is easy enough to rewire, it is easy enough to make any connector you want.

United states standard ac power connector.
>>56332698
A shit solution for data throughput.
>>56332779
What's wrong with a one-directional plug? Just plug it in the right way. It saves having to design an interface that will be accepted both/all ways and having to design circuitry to detect and flip signals around.
For something as simple as Lightning where you only have about eight pins to worry about it's not as big of an issue, but for larger interfaces like DP/HDMI, fuck that shit. Bi-directonal or omni-directional would be a fucking nightmare.
