I have a Nexus 6 and never felt much the need to root it except for fucking ads. It is safe g? X-plore gives me the chance to do it with One click root. Since i never rooted anything, what is the safest way to do it? There is a way to still get updates without removing root?

If you do root it, also get Xposed. It lets you modify other apps and you get a few gems like system GUI mods, youtube background playback and adblock, snapchat mods, tinder timestamps, etc. Also allows some very tight permission control with xprivacy and stuff like queueing your background data for less battery usage.
