How do you make free trials of software last forever? How do you target the file in the program that keeps track of when it was turned on and how much longer you have left?

Open up the program in a debugger. Step through the process until you find where it checks for the end of the trail, then either skip that part or make it read false. I have no idea how to do any of that.
