Of course if you buy some no-name gamepad for as cheap as possible it'll probably be shit but there are loads of good ones like the xiaomi gamepad, gamesir g3s, 8bitdo and ipega controllers. I've used $10-$20 mice my whole life, basically whatever the cheapest full-size mouse was at Best Buy at the time and James Donkey feels way better and works just as well as any of those other mice I've tried, while being cheaper to boot. The real superiority in my experience comes from build quality. Those rubber pads on the sides of the JD mouse were a game-changer for me.

If you're used to $80 gaymur mice with 1000000000000dpi you won't be impressed by JD but if you're a cheapass like me you'll appreciate it.
