Everything went to shit after 9/11/2001 and continued to go to shit up through the housing bubble which was a fake recovery I would say up until about 2014 there wasn't much of anything of importance that happened. Hardware got cheaper, Phones got smaller, internet got faster, software became a tool of enslavement, real wages stagnated, social values crumbled, school got expensive and the US lost in every way shape and form on the world stage. I feel like the worst is behind us though and things will get better from here on out.
