I have DisplayPort bug where if screen goes off or system goes sleep I must reboot computer to fix. I have screensaver turned on because don't want to damage screen, but also don't want to always turn off computer when not using because cannot turn off monitor.
Is okay to leave on with screensaver?

I have a S-IPS? Asus 23", and the on screen clock widget has produced burn in that won't go away.
In theory no.
But in the real life it very much does.
I have a 7 year old IPS panel that gets minor memory effect if you leave something on the screen for a while, but it goes away. Mostly noticeable in when displaying something gray over the affected area.

Yeah, LG makes really shitty panels. "Burn-in" still happens on those Retina Macbook Pros. Shit colors too.
Stick with Samsung PLS, Sharp IGZO IPS or Panasonic IPS.
