What is the most lightweight browser out there? Aka has least amount of bloat, takes least amount of RAM or processing power.

Firefox and Chrome are disqualified by default.

>Why Python?
I enjoy writing Python since 2011, which made it one of the possible choices. I wanted to use Qt because of QtWebKit so I didn’t have many other choices. I don’t like C++ and can’t write it very well, so that wasn’t an alternative.

>But isn’t Python too slow for a browser?
No. I believe efficiency while coding is a lot more important than efficiency while running. Also, most of the heavy lifting of qutebrowser is done by Qt and WebKit in C++, with the GIL released.

>Van Rossum: Python is not too slow

>Why QT
Because it use the QtWebEngine

I'm trying to get surf to work properly, except it's not rendering flexboxes. The docs recommend compiling your own webkit, so that might be the issue.
Still, I love the (lack of) gui -- trying to use it as the UI for some locally hosted programs with web UIs (rancher, deluge, plex)
>>
>>56303226
Come on, give serious advice. Curl isn't usable for regular browsing. Lynx is the way to go.

Midori looks cute. If it has anything like VideoDownloadHelper to download videos from different websites, I might ditch Chrome forever.
Please tell me some user experiences on Midori.

The absolute most lightweight?

Lynx

The almost too lightweight?

dwb uzbl

I like the webkit browsers but they just sometimes don't work correctly with HTML5 and really dynamic webpages.

Personally I just use Chromium - I save so much time being part of the botnet.

Just get a macbook so you can use a real browser

Just use youtube-dl from command line/terminal. Better than any addon and works for many sites.

I'm a noob and I've never used any web browser besides Chrome + extensions. Please enlighten me.
Is it possible to transfer Chrome passwords and favourites to Midori? I'm looking for a lightweight, fast and efficient web browser for Windows 10. What about Edge?
>>
>>56303367
webkit is OUT OF DATE
qtwebengine is the only good engine
>>
>>56303416
I used W10 sometimes on my dads computer and i hated it. That said, I think that edge was quite a good browser, one of the only improvements in W10.

I personally use chromium on my laptop, because doesn't really matter if botnet on wifi.

On home computer I use icecat and in terminal w3m

That's not how it works.

-can't open new tab without swapping #atleastnothingwaisted
Seriously, go get fucked.

Has anyone else noticed the progression of websites into the land of seedy? For example a friend invited me to a bar earlier and I wanted to check the menu prices so I opened a review website which took an age to render, opened a new window with landing page of company, sent 3 cookies and then used a pop up to ask if "I was sure I wanted to leave"
I can understand this kind of behavior from a porn site but when did it become ok for mainstream sites to be so seedy?

I use K-Meleon. It lags like crazy in pages with a lot of images, but I can use it even in my old Thinkpad 385 (80 MB of RAM, Windows 98).

Praying this is bait. This is the stupidest thing I've ever read.
