Gentoo installation disk.
>>
>>56300167
Take pic of other side of disk
>>
>>56300160

>>
>>56300292
This.

>>56300160
wew gen Y folks
>>
>>56300172
Not exactly. Dust accumulation on the lens is a real thing that can happen and affect the ability of the drive to read a disc properly.

But if you use your optical drive often enough then you shouldn't get any dust build up because the rotating disc itself will cause enough disturbance to move dust off.

I have one.
It actually works. There are very tiny brushes at the bottom of the disk, so when it spins it cleans the lens.
>>
>>56300172
Worked a bit on my failing PS2 back in the day. Back when the lasers were capsulated in plastic and got scratched easy. These days there is no use really.
>>
Mine came with a tiny vial of cleaning fluid which I'm pretty sure it was just windex with a little extra isopropanol.
They worked alright, plus the early 90's elevator muzak was really A E S T H E T I C.
>>
I bought this for my car because the cd player wasn't reading my disc. Ended up wasting fuckin money because the target didn't accept opened electronics. Ended up buying an fm transmitter

>They worked alright, plus the early 90's elevator muzak was really A E S T H E T I C.
Is there an album remixing CD Lens Cleaner Music?
>>
>>56300438

>plastic brushes brushing over a PLASTIC lens of a fucking laser that could malfunction only by the tiniest bit of light diffusion

>brushing over this delicate lens with 7000 rpm

selling something that doesn't work is one thing.
selling something that actually DAMAGES your shit is a completely different beast.
>>
>>56300696
>PLASTIC lens
What kind of shit hardware do you use?
>>
>>56300739
>implying they actually put glass lenses into sub $200 optical drives
>>
>>56300666
A few but you've probably never heard of them.
>>
Its a dvd player lens scratcher retards used to buy them to clean the lens in their dvd players only for the product to ruin it
>>

>>56300696

This implies that it contains BR video. Can't be CD 1x.
>>

>>
>>56300160
It's what it says, a lens cleaner. Not really necessary nowadays. In the 90s dust on the lens was a pretty common problem.
>>
>>56300438
>>56300696
>>56303085
never seen one like in that photo, but most laser cleaners have soft, fiber like bristles that has plenty of flex to not scratch the sensor.
>pic related
