Wow, Nvidia is truly innovating. I want a graphics card that goes Vroom, vroom, vroom like a racecar.

So just set a custom fan curve. Jesus this shit isn't rocket appliance.

>>
>>56299458
The only reason people should ever buy reference cards is if they are going to put a water block on them.
>>

not now with nvidia. you can get a card with the same pcb as a reference for cheaper

nah it's the logic behind which sucks, the shill article cancels out product issues that are sometimes too complicated for the average user who just wants to press "play".

>similar to waves hitting the shore
>sudden and repetitive noises are annoying

Nvidia tard: "I like the sound of waves! I like racing cars! Why don't you just set the fan curve and bow down to all superiority, you don't know tech at all."

The article is just created to reassure the public because it's too minor for Nvidia to address and needs to exist for the search thread and reference point for some tech reps to anchor on, it just sucks it's a circle jerk.

When it should simply be designed and integrated from the very beginning.

And their fix was to change the cards limit in software so it no longer matched the specs on the box.

Of course they do. Direct me to a single gpu that can perform even close to as well as the 1080 from AMD, and we'll all have a reason not to. Oh wait! No we win't, cause AMD is still shit with their drivers and are just shit in general.

Denuvo protects DRM that also exists along side, without an existing DRM such as Steamworks, Denuvo wouldn't do anything to stop piracy.

Most reviewers have all found that Founders overclock way better, even with the worse cooler.

Nvidia binned them and gave the shit chips to the AIBs

nvidia must be actually stupid.

Surely they realise that most people buying a high end graphics card to overclock and get the full experience are buying third party cards and not nvidia's reference shit.
>>
>>56300837
>Surely they realise that most people buying a high end graphics card to overclock and get the full experience are buying third party cards

You need to go to more tech sites than just /g/ and actually interact with the overclocking groups/forums and shit. Those people are buying Founders and putting on custom heatsinks. Founders are flying off shelves and can't keep in stock. That means Nvidia is getting all the profit of the card sale, no AIB involved AND $100 more per card because Founders mark up.

They're geniuses.
>>
Look I'm an AMD fag and I can tell you that fan revving is really not a big deal. Who cares? They fixed it already anyway.

This.

I've been saying this for ages that all amd sponsored games have been hot garbage that are massive flops compared to nvidia sponsored games. If anything, that should make you want to buy nvidia by default with the knowledge that all the good and relevant games run better on nvidia hardware.

Nvidia have had 3 goty winners in several categories in the last year. How many have amd had in that time?

Ashes is a bad game. Not the genre's or AMD's fault.

Supreme Commander is much better. Even Planetary Annihilation is better.

Same with the Deus Ex reboot.
They tried to cater it to casuals by dumbing it down. The fanbase got mad and casuals still didn't buy it.

Don't know about Hitman.

Pretty much most reference cards are known to have some serious issues in their design. This has been happening since the dawn of mankind, even the old reference cards from both AMD and Nvidia were always really bad. It may seem too expensive, but forking over $50-100 extra for a non-reference card is way much more worth it.

It still happens regularly. Bitcoin miners, local resellers, gpu scalpers all buy out these gpus before people can actually get to them. It's why there's a huge stock problem right now, and it's why cards are way above their msrp (although it's improving).

Plenty of ASIC resistant crypto currencies out there. The only way to mine them is on GPU's. Even with electricity cost you'll make the money you spent on the hardware back pretty quick, all profit after that.

The 480 outperforms the fucking 1080 in hashes per second when mining the profitable coins. Can't game for shit but damn can it crunch those numbers.

This meme chart isn't doing the pro duo any favours. So for an $1500 card you get a card that has much more power requirements than a gtx 1080, has only 14 fps more and moreso it's a double gpu over a single gpu. Did I also mention that the gtx 1080 is $600 while the pro duo is $1500?

I don't get why anyone would buy the reference geforce

If you buy a modified Nvidia GPU you get:
-a much better fan
-a guaranteed overclocked gpu (if you buy the reference card, it could be that you can't overclock it at all)
-sometimes even special guarantees
And all this for around the same or even cheaper price

There is no better GPU than the 1080. If AMD or another third party would make a better gpu, I would like it. But there is non.
>>

Except the FE cards on the 1000 series are reportedly getting higher OCs than the 3rd party cards or at least it's just all the same shit since Pascal just caps at 2100Mhz.

Yea Pascal seems rushed or an afterthought with no long term goals. I just wonder how bad things truly are though as these sorts of things are planned well in advance including even contracts signed. I actually liked Tegra and certain lines but looking back at the roadmaps Pascal doesn't show up and things seemed sort of stagnant on their end. Did they remove too many features or something from the hardware designs perhaps? Wish I knew.

470 4GB is the best gaming card if you want a brand new card bar none. If you want more than 4GB then I'd say go with a 1060 6GB or the 480 8GB whichever you prefer or can acquire for your budget if it matters that much.

there probably isn't a plx chip. if there is then it must still have the terrible pcie latency causing these problems. alternatively it might just not have enough bandwidth to constantly copy the framebuffer contents back and forth from each GPU's memory alongside all the other data a GPU normally deals with. a proper interconnect (like the ones AMD uses already to make their opteron CPUs) would go a long way to improving this.

To be honest, I regret getting the 4gb msi 470. Hadn't realized that the Sapphire 8gb had the full 8000mhz memory. Would have camped Newegg everyday for that shit. At least with my experience over clocking my card, the faster memory is key to getting top clocks. I haven't gotten it stable passed 1350 core, but 1370 was significantly more stable when I upped to memory from 1800 to 1850. Also ran into gpu utilization drops at 1350 until I upped the memory to 1800. It is super cool and quiet though. Get whatever has the fastest memory anon. You won't regret it. Also, current drivers have screen blanking issues on some high refresh non freesync displays. Hopefully they get that worked out soon.

People buy nvidia because AMD is a joke. AMD has already let Vega slip from Q1 2017 to 1H 2017 so Nvidia basically will have no competition for the 1070 and 1080 for a whole year and then buy the time Vega is out Volta will be right around the corner and AMD will be behind again.

Yea, AMD looks to be the way to go with the VR.
>>
>>56339656
VR is fucking dog shit right now. Its not worth the hundreds theyre charging for the return you get.
>>
>>56339656

Amusingly enough Hardocp says AMD is shit at VR.
>>
>>56339693
Yeah, I'll wait 10 years and then fuck waifus when I'm 33. Sad but true
>>
>>56339804

Hardocp hating on AMD? No way!
>>
>>56339998

I, too, was shocked at such a revelation. Actually kyle's retardation aside the data he presents - though I question how he recorded it - does seem to favour Nvidia.

Then again with nobody else really doing VR tests his data is meaningless because nobody has verified it.
>>
>>56339693
I agree with you there and haven't bought into it just like 3D TV as of yet. Eventually things will take a more stable shape so we'll see.

>>56339804
HardOCP/Kyle might be right. Kyle hasn't been a fan of AMD for awhile. Haven't paid attention to why this might be the case. Been part of these old tech communities since the 90's in some cases.

> Haven't paid attention to why this might be the case.

He was denied a nano review sample after he was talking shit about AMD and then got extremely butthurt over it.
>>
>>56340324
Interesting. Surprised at the immaturity if that's the case.

>people reference (((Trump))) memes outside of pol
>>
>>56340508
What reference to a Trump meme? (((jew)))? That isn't a Trump meme.
>>
>>56340558
Only bitterly angry hateful trump humping republikids use memerenthasis to denote their trendy online antisemitism. Not even mainstream alt right does it only on pol.

Also (((Trump))) is orthodox jewish so you need to use it for fatty bankrupt just like any other jew.

Oh yes, yes they will. I can't wait.
I don't own DE:MD because I never even gave DE:HR a proper chance, but its damn interesting to see.
I love that my Fury X still has life in her yet.

Kepler owners are probably on suicide watch by now given the painful death the architecture is suffering. I honestly suspect the adoption of DX12 is why AMD isn't replacing fiji yet - it is showing that its capable of keeping up with a 1070 and sometimes even a 1080.
>>
>>56340966
I'd definitely put any of the AMD cards HD 7000 to current despite the age of the arch as one of the finest of wines. They age really really well. The drivers have also gotten better in my personal experience which might be a major or minor factor as well.
>>
>>56339804
amd is shit for VR, sure there are pros and cons like the htc vive compatibility issue but you can still use other headsets
>>
>>56342400
But what about those people who ALREADY HAVE A HTC VIVE HEADSET?
Fucking moron.
>>
>>56342410
most people don't
>>
>>56342415
Doesn't answer the question.
Or should them people just go fuck themselves?
>>
>>56342424
sure is butthurt

just use your existing gpu or your fucking phone or whatever you use htc vive with or get a different headset, anyone who's serious about VR would get an oculus rift or starvr not a fucking vive
>>
>>56342532
I haven't got any VR headset because I knew issues like these would arise. But Nvidia could've EASILY avoided this issue.
The trouble is, if they use a DP1.4 port, they open themselves up to Freesync LOLNOPE, CAN'T HAVE THAT.
>>
>>56342545
the fault is with htc, the other headsets don't have any problem

but the HDMI port still works with htc vive you fucking spoiled brat
>>
>>56342566
I'm a spoiled brat for expecting a company like Nvidia to not fuck their users... hmmm... yes...
0.25 rupees to you, good work Raajeet
>>
>>56342577
you can use dual hdmi or if you don't have dual hdmi you can get an adapter

it's fucking nothing
>>
>>56342584
I'll add another 5 rupees for your ability to include more products, very well done Raajeet.
>>
>>56342642
