Not that guy, and late, but the software is pretty solid. G302 user here.

It's a good thing to download it, so you can at least save your own polling rate and DPI step settings onto the mouse, then fugettaboudit. You don't need the software running for custom settings to stay on.

I'd be surprised if it even costs more than $10.

Sure there's some R&D, but at this point we're mostly talking about solved problems.
Making a decent mouse like that is not a significant engineering feat, at all.

I...I want to believe you, what makes trackball great for palmgrip while no one else so far has suggested one?
>>
>>56309504

Why? Because you can't find a good palm grip mouse? Because you want superior ergonomics and comfort?

Because you like having superior performance in vidyas with less capable hardware. Because being accused of HACK in public cheat never stops making you laugh. And being kicked from online servers for being too good is your bag.

They never went obsolete, they just became less profitable because fags don't understand how inefficient and inconvenient mouse is. Don't believe me?

Check out this ownage of a trackball player in battlefield 4.

I like the Roccat Kone XTD Optical. (Link: http://www.roccat.org/nb-NO/Products/Gaming-Mice/Kone-XTD-Series/Kone-XTD-Optical/)

It's good to hold both for clawing and palming, and it has 11*2 buttons because of the EasyShift button. That's been more useful to me than I'd imagine. It also has an optical sensor instead of the slightly more jittery and error-prone laser sensor, which means that you need to have a hair or something stuck in front of the sensor before any noticable mouse skipping occurs.

As for gaming, the mouse has 5 profiles that can be set to trigger by launching certain game .exe's, and one of them can be set as the Windows profile that it returns to when the game is not in focus, which is handy. I had a problem with the driver once (the driver would not save any changes I made to button layouts, dpi scales, etc), but after a clean reinstall of the driver, the problem has never reoccurred.

The folks at Roccat support also respond very fast if you have any issues.

10/10, would recommend if you like these features.

Sorry to say it, but the other dude is probably right. I've made a drawing to illustrate the point.

The reason I know this is because I had the same wrist pain problem that you have, but it was all due to a ghetto setup with no place to rest my arm. After I got a desk that I can rest my arm on while still having space to move my mouse, my wrist pains are a thing of the past. I did not change my mouse.

>tl;dr - Get some space to rest your arms so you don't lift your entire arm with your wrist.

I've had both the Intellimouse and Blue optical mouse shit out on me. I don't know how people are capable of keeping them up and running cause they just don't survive that long, just from casual gaming and normal use.
>>
>>56310059

The best are on the used market. Logitech Trackman and Microsoft Optical. The best ever made. However they suffer from age and use and you will have to most likely replace the ball bearings with jewel bearings instead.

If you don't want to screw with all that, the other two options are the Logitech M570 and the Elecom TX-3. The M570 isn't really "gaming" grade as the sensor kinda sucks, and since it's wireless has a low poll rate of 125hz but selectable between 400CPI and 800DPI. The elecom has a shit tier sensor and the wireless version is ass for any kind of performance, but it's passable if you can live with a low power state that takes a while to wake the mouse up. So just go with the wired. You'll have problems but not as bad as the wireless issues. The battery life on the M570 is phenomenal. Lasting almost a year between battery changes.
>>
>>56307717
>calling the biggest innovation to mice useless

Why would having more control over your wheel left/right be useless? I've already seen plenty of use with it just working in Excel and Premiere.

I'm sorry you don't have a job that requires actual sit-down work with a computer. Enjoy only using your mice for web browsing.

I want to get a new mouse because my second deathadder in this year started to have doubleclick problems. I'd rather have a mouse that will work under heavy load.
And most of the wirst problems became apparent when I had to put extra pressure on the button to make it work, even dragging and dropping was difficult, don't even get me started on highliting code.
So what's a good mouse that won't break after half a year of use.

All you need is a $9 basic business mouse (logitech b1)

and a $9 Onn kb

Both will last you 4 years, and you don't have to look like a faggot.

Anyways posting the most aesthetic and comfortable mouse

I would rather damage $9 gear than expensive gear that performs the same way

Why is Middle Button allowed? It is ergonomically poor, and time of finger movement poor.

These new trackball mice don't actually have the ball under it but on the side?

What? How the hell can that even work? You don't actually move the mouse but the ball on the side? I mean, I'm now genuinely curious but whut?

Just got the rival 700 today after returning my """"""defective"""""" rival 300 to microcenter.

Aside from the xxX_MLG_Xxx tier led screen on the side, shit's even more comfy than the 300, and has vibration motor built into it so you can customize tactile feedback however you like. I have it set to send a jolt on every click of the main 3 mouse buttons. Wish more mice had this function.

comes with 2 detachable cables also. a long braided cable, and a short rubber coated one. Pretty neato.

I have been using logitech g9 without the grip for quite a while. I recently bought a g303, but I just don't think it is suitable with how I grip the mouse.

I use my fingertips to grip the mouse, but g303's inward slope forces me to palm grip the mouse. I am thinking of returning it in favor of g402.

Are manufacturers still coating their mice with that shit silicone rubber stuff that becomes sticky in the heat + need to scrape off?

>>
i have to buy a new mouse by the end of today. i'm really fucking stuck between choosing a g502, EC2-A, and ZA13/12.
my deathadder is on it's deathbed, i swear when once one thing went wrong the entire mouse just up and decided to commit sudoku.

so either i get the g502 and hate my self for not learning my lesson about heavy and huge mouses
or i order the za12/13 or EC2-A and have to deal with minuscule input lag.
would get a g303 sense it has a perfect sensor and is the perfect weight but apparently it has sensor rattle, fuck me.
>>
>>56319497
Well, depending on which you get, they do have weight adjustable ones.
>>
>>56319497
There are also the G900, and the G Pro (coming 10th of September).
Got a G900 myself as a replacement for the G502, and it's phenomenal. Wireless performance is equal to the G502 with cable. Can also be used with a cable instead of wireless, and it's a bunch lighter than the G502.
>>
>>56319497
deathadder owners should check out the gladius, it's basically a da2013 with proper build quality for half the price
>>

Logitech trumped everyone with the G502, then the G303, and to top it off with cream the G900. These mice have no competition right now. And after that streak I find it hard to believe Logitech would fuck up on that one now.

You can remove this.

It was driving me crazy on my G600.
Just make a hole and snip through the cord braid.
To make things easier you can just push it down to cut twice as much at once (it collapses).
There's a nice thin rubber wire inside.

This saved me spending money on a G602, and I'm going to do the same to my G502 for the days I don't need so many side buttons.

Sorry, but I'm tech-illiterate. Is that a good thing, or a bad thing, or..?
>>
>>56330379

Means if you whip your mouse faster than 1 meter per second it's going to send back erroneous tracking data. That's bad for low sensitivity players because they need to move their mouse quickly.

But if you play at higher sens and dpi this should matter to you at all. only for hard core russian Quake nerds and CS players and shit.
>>
>>56330481

*shouldn't

>>56330481
>only for hard core russian Quake nerds and CS players and shit
o fuk. So does that mean I won't be able to play CSGO properly now? Damn. Oh well, I don't really play it anyway. What about MMOs, or shooters like Battlefield? What about Warframe, or Mass Effect 3?

Okay, I'm gonna pretend like what you said isn't really bad, is this still a good mouse? I mean, I'm a bit of a poorfag at the moment, so I don't want to spend half of my 100 budget on a mouse, as I want to get some other stuff too.

>Rest easy
Well, I mean it doesn't look bad. Most reviews I saw were VERY positive about it, and I mean it's American tech, so it's not exactly the worst on the planet.

Well, thanks anyway, dude. Much appreciated.
