Going to be building my first pc soon, but before that, I'd like to get my actual desk squared away for layout purposes.
So my question is open to any helpful input in this decision making process. What are the main things you look for in a gaming desk? Any specific models?

I personally abhor the idea of having the mouse & keyboard at different heights. So I just got a Malm desk from Ikea. Pic related, that's the model.
The pull-out makes perfect for any drinks, paper, microphone or anything like that - and slides right in if you don't want it out.
The height is perfect and the length is enough to fit a Fractal Design Define S, two small speakers and a 27" monitor on with no issues, along with keyboard, mouse & anything I want to have in front of the PC itself.
Also has a nice little cable management hole & holder at the back, so you can put a power strip in the space and all your cables can be nicely routed.
