There's only one true language: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calculus_of_constructions
>>
>>56273868
A language that's limited to scripting interfaces can't really be "the languagae of the future". That's like calling a golf cart the "transportation of the future".

Javascript is very enabling for shitty syntax and style. Not sure where people get the "beautiful" from. Good on you if you code in Javascript properly but after I had to refactor an intern's scripts I can say I am really bitter about how this shit just compiled.

C should be an incredibly sharp knife. It doesn't help you do anything, and if you're a retard you *will* cut yourself badly, but a C master can carve up any problem with the utmost speed and efficiency.

C++ is spot on though, a billion different tools with a bunch of different wants to do something, and you can still hurt yourself even if you're being careful.

I'm a C++ guy, worked with a hardcore C guy on updating a project from the 80s, it was very eye-opening.

All scripting interfaces.

You can't make powerful applications like Photoshop or Final Cut Pro with scripts. Compiling to binary is vital to pretty much anything that isn't just forms.
>>
>>56284998
Adobe Photoshop itself (Express) is made in ECMAscript (Actionscript via Flash). :-)
>>
>>56285022
Wrong. The Adobe Creative suite _supports_ using ExtendScript, an implementation of ECMAScript to execute tasks in their software.

If you understood the first thing about machine code and scripting languages you'd know it's pretty much impossible to make a software that processes heavy video data in a scripting language.
>>

>You can't make powerful applications like Photoshop or Final Cut Pro with scripts. Compiling to binary is vital to pretty much anything that isn't just forms.
Photoshop Express != Photoshop, other than being from the same company and having the general purpose of editing images those two applications have absolutely fuck all to do with each other.
