Independent strictly
and leaning more towards right libertarianism, I hate communism and all forms of socialism, capitalism is the only way, in computers I believe you should have a choice whether to run free software or not, and Debian does that perfectly unlike shit commie dists like Trisquel which literally restricts certain binaries from running if it is nonfree, Debian allows for fully free software and if you need blobs/proprietary shitware then they let you, Debian is purely perfect, I don't agree with their SJW leanings but they aren't literally censoring me so it's fine, best variant of the GNU system there is

I run Linux-Libre-4.7.2 only because my system doesn't require blobs to run so im fine with a fully libre kernel and I prefer free software over proprietary anyday, but I still believe in giving users the choice, for example Debian allows users to not use SystemD and use SysVinit instead just fine without your system melting

Last time I took that Political Compass test, I placed as an "individualist." I don't even like Ayn Rand, but okay.

The only party in the U.S. I could possibly see eye-to-eye with is the Libertarian Party; although the party itself is too divided between well-meaning liberals, and fiscal conservatives who don't actually give a shit about anyone's civil liberties. (e.g. Ron Paul)

Synopsis of my positions on issue that people seem to consider important: Keep the government out of my business. Stop telling consenting adults what to do, as long as they aren't physically harming anyone against their will, or aren't encroaching on anyone's rights. Don't over-tax or over-regulate corporations, but observe sensible regulations such as anti-trust laws and limitations on outsourcing and waste production. Don't privatize everything, but do respect the rights of private businesses and property owners.

My basic position is that the people should vote on an agenda and basic leadership. That leadership should act as a managerial role and hire experts from their fields and academia to make sure that agenda gets met.

There should also be somewhat of a separation from this process for very critical portions of our economy which could be shocked every certain number of years based on elections. These will be held accountable with private technical audits released to the public who can chose managers who if there is a huge majority can fire those people.

You understand that this is how things were back in America's golden age, right? (1945-1970) The government did their job, no one got absurdly rich, and prices were normalized. Home prices didn't skyrocket, wages were good, and goods were cheap. It's the deregulation (ie: giving bankers/rich CEOs the ability to act carelessly) that led to many of today's problems.

There is an issue when the largest/second largest political party has stated in its political manifest its intentions to remove the current legislation.

>Yes it is. If you don't want religion to play a role in government, then why should the state be messing around with the church?
Why should it be treated any different than any other organization? If state and church is to be separated, then why should churches have a special status?

Also, there clearly isn't a separation of state and church in the US. Government officials are still sworn in using a religious oath, biblical references are found everywhere from legislations to official logos and symbols, etc.

1. You have a company? How much is being taxed from you? Is it 4 thousand a year, 10 thousand? That money, though not very well I might add (thanks to lobbying and Americans docility) goes to social services that make your life better. Instead of having to pay EVEN MORE, you "only" pay that much because you're not that rich. That's how progressive taxes work: you make little, you pay little, you make a lot, you pay more. Things like subsidies, roads, health care, police services, and all kinds of public services come from taxes. Even if you don't use ALL of the services, you benefit from them by living in a society that isn't collapsing. Trust me, I've lived in a shitty country, and I can tell you how bad that can be. Look at Russia for more on "Low tax Living"

2. Right, look back at #1. And once more, they really aren't that bad for a business.

3. No of course not. If you're small and can't afford to pay your employees certain things, the government should step in. Also, I doubt any company (especially in the US) would advocate for better workers' rights.

4. Rich people drain from the economy, and they inflate prices of homes by gentrifying. They don't created labor, because they live off of their interest. No one should get to that point until retirement. As far as contributing jobs, no they don't. People who makes six figures create jobs, millionaires exploit.

And to finish off, you say these regulations are there "just cuz" when in reality, most exist to protect dumb people and the environment.

It's not a flat tax, I'm being taxed on different things. And the company isn't the only thing being taxed, my employees are taxed too (their income).

I would welcome gladly a bill that would reduce the required income tax for employees working in small companies (less than 10/50/whatever employees) and that laxed requirements to the the mandatory health insurance plan. *** ALL *** my employees would benefit from this, not only me or my company.

>2. Right, look back at #1. And once more, they really aren't that bad for a business.
Income and privately owned property should be taxed, corporations should not be. Your main issue is, as you said yourself, filthy rich bankers and CEOs that cash in a gazilleon dollars for their own use and expense. If that money is put back into the company, why should that money double (and in some cases even tripple) taxed like it is today?

>No of course not. If you're small and can't afford to pay your employees certain things, the government should step in
Yes, thank you.

>Also, I doubt any company (especially in the US) would advocate for better workers' rights.
That's demonstratively false. Most tech firms, including Google, actually do this.

>Rich people drain from the economy,
Rich people contribute to the economy when they are motivated to SPEND the money (as in, put it into companies). Rich people drain from the economy when they are forced to put their wealth into other, less taxed things, such as property.
>>
>>56265962

If you can't make money on your business you either suck at running your company with a shitty business plan. Or you just have a shitty business.

If taxes are too insurmountable of a burden then stand aside and let people run your business for you.

Other first world countries are swiftly taking away individual rights for asinine reasons, while the dipshits on both sides in the USA are trying to erode individual rights as well the constitution thwarts them. That's all a problem with the political system. A direct democracy was discarded in the US because the general population was considered too dumb to effectively vote. The Electoral College system in place now also protects against voter apathy. I'd gladly vote for a candidate who actually stood a chance and was willing to abolish the minimum wage.

They were great for the world, but only at the time. Sadly a country that was built to allow itself to continue to progress has been halted by those with dove eyes about the past.Their failures at Freedom for All have become doctrine for others to keep oppression alive.

The US is actually one of the least "free" western countries.

You can be arrested in the US for obscenity and seditionist speech.

Electoral college is trash. Republics themselves are also trash. Parliamentary democracy are the best way to go.

Like I said, in the last hundred years both sides have become a tumor who want to restrict individual liberty.

Also, as depressing as it is the US is still one of the most free countries when it comes to speech. Australia, the UK, and Canada you can be punished for telling off color jokes. The UK is especially hostile to allowing people to speak their mind and in every aspect is among the least free first world nations.

Honestly, as one of the whitest Australians you could possibly encounter, I'm okay with this. Whites still have it pretty fucking good compared to just about everyone else, and no longer being able to say offensive shit about others and get away with it by saying "I'm only joking" doesn't change that. In spite of what fuckwits like Andrew Bolt and Pauline Hanson say.

Considering the sort of shit America does with its precious free speech, you're damn right.

Books? No-one fucking bothers censoring those. Movies? It actually takes some pretty bad shit in a movie to get it refused classification. Music? See books. Games? Alright, those do cop it a bit, but not enough that you'd really notice unless you're super into gore and hentai games about underage girls.

>Books? No-one fucking bothers censoring those.
Except your wrong, one infamous banning was the peaceful pill handbook which was banned for political reasons. Other books on euthanasia have been banned as well. Beyond that numerous pornographic, muslim political, and art books/magazines have been banned. For example a shakewell magazine, an art magazine that explores the art of graffiti artists was banned in 2016 for glorifying graffiti.

>It actually takes some pretty bad shit in a movie to get it refused classification.
Irrelevant, an adult should get to choose what they wish to watch not the state.

>Music? See books.
Many metal bands with violent lyrics have been prevented from entering the country, on top of that some fringe metal bands have had their cds outright banned.

>Games? Alright, those do cop it a bit, but not enough that you'd really notice unless you're super into gore and hentai games about underage girls.
Games need only have the hint of promoting illegal activity to be censored or banned, Marc Eckō's Getting Up is a good example of that.

>hurr durr it's not discrimination when it's against ideologies but you can't discriminate against religions
My god, do you really not realize that a religion is an ideology like any other? So if I idolise a genocidal maniac, that's wrong, but "there is nothing wrong" with idolising a child rapist, so long as he claims to be holy or whatever?
Stop trying to make equal what isn't. Religions aren't equal. Islam is a vile ideology incompatible with the tolerant western standards you likely claim to have.
