Well obviously you're not doing anything important and seems like you've got plenty of time to spend on linux so you should go for gentoo or arch.
Avoid anything below that as you will gain nothing in terms of understanding.

Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora are good ones for beginners.
Install Gentoo
this is what ive used anon good luck idiot

Depends.Graphics card? Ram? Laptops can be a whole new level annoying if you expect everything to work EXACTLY the same as Windows, too. There's quite a bit to consider if you're a fussy cunt. I go the easy route and just use Intel Graphics and skip all the "power-saving" bullshit. Everything works and I get a hair over 5 hours battery time. Nothing amazing, but I love the OS.

If you don't know what OS to use yourself, there is always just one answer.
Ubuntu, any flavour you want , but stick with Ubuntu. It just works.

If you want to learn linux -> arch linux
If you already know a bit about linux, and just want it to work now -> manjaro
If you want to just use linux, no hardship -> linux mint

Why does it lead to Slackware only if you prefer compiling?
It's a binary-based distro.

Fedora or opensuse fucktard.

What an interesting counterargument.
