2017 could be reasonable, but the review for the TXp are less that what one might expect.
$1200 for a card about 30% faster than a 1080, due to having 2 of its 30 shader blocks fused off and being slower clocked to hit 250W limits.

A 1080 Ti could run all of the shaders but would probably need a slight further downclock.
