I have an HTC One M9 and don't know the pattern to unlock it. I tried a factory reset but now it wants me to log on to the owners google account, which I don't have. Any way to bypass this? It's not rooted or flashed or anything, I'm thinking maybe a custom ROM might work but can I even install one without unlocking the phone to root it first?
>pic related, not this phone but same problem
give it back tyrone

you must be able to factory reset the phone via adb.

Give it back, Jamal. We know you stole it, return it to its rightful owner.
The owner can get your location via cell triangulation and they don't even need a warrant. It looks like your time is up Tyrone.
First time mugging someone Laqueesha? Too bad you found a poorfag
Factory reset through recovery mode might work. You're not going to be able to use adb or root it until you can enable USB debugging which requires getting past the anti-theft.
If you can get it into fastboot it might work though. Try turning it off and then holding the volume down button while you turn it on. Keep holding the volume down button until it shows you a boot menu.
