Can confirm. My go too for years.
Op
Default firewall is fine for regular people
But antivirus means fuck all, in 15 minutes you can create malware that no antivirus will pick up
But avira, AVG etc etc are all fairly good shouts
If you really care, learn about system security and only open files/browse the net in a VM
Ironically, the best firewall for windows is linux.

I use Avast, it works pretty well in addition to Common Sense 2017.
Norton is most likely the best you can get
Why the fuck do you need antivirus in this day and age
Can someone explain to me why?
Serious question, I haven't been using antivirus in four years
Not using a horrible, insecure OS like Windows is the best antivirus, and using an ACTUAL FIREWALL (what a concept) is the best firewall.
Instantly can tell the person that has no idea how computing works when they think installing a firewall on the computer they want to protect is a good idea.

Aww, look at the little child trying to defend his ignorance by calling someone with an actual fucking lifetime of computer knowledge and information "underage".
What a moron.

I-Is it really that bad? I've never used McAfee, I'm just trying to figure out what's wrong with my friend's computer.

Also, even though he's an entertaining motherfucker, john mcafee definitely doesn't need any more of anyone's money.

This is the correct answer. Common Sense also needs to include installing your browser updates (and flash if your porn sites don't support html5 video, and java if you're a corporate cube drone who needs to use java)
