Ubuntu and its derivatives are good for desktop. openSUSE is also decent. Fedora is really good but requires setting up and considering you're coming from Elementary I'd stick with Ubuntu. I use Ubuntu GNOME on my desktop and openSUSE KDE on my laptop.
