We were looking to hire a Ruby dev at work to take over an API, half the applicants were coding bootcamp graduates. They all talked the talk, but when it came to actual code samples the only thing they had was the examples the bootcamp made them pump out. Any examples or coding problems we asked them to solve, they couldn't fucking do.

I'm sure the bootcamps absolutely can churn out some decent coders, but fucking hell, the majority of them just saw it as "6 months and I'll be the next Google? Fuck yeah! Where do I sign the check?!"
