Msi gaming x is the only one I can speak to. Mine is essentially silent with 1400/1750 OC. Memory would probably go higher, but I heard it throttles the memory timings any higher frequency. That was just a few comments on an ethereum forum, I have tested, so take with a grain of salt.

The cheapest 480 is the reference blower at $377.
The cheapest 470 is the XFX custom 4gb model at $299.

I never expected the 470 to perform as well as it does.

I don't know why the 470 isn't more recommended. It's the same performance as a reference 480, much more available, and some places have even already had deals on them. I got mine for $170.

How is the HIS RX 480 Turbo? Its boost clock is quite high. I really want the Nitro+ though.
