>Why dual speakers?
The HiFi gear and DAC are pretty much only for music. The monitors are for everything else. Also, the monitors have two inputs and controls on the front panel, so I can use different channels for game audio and voip and it's convenient to use the front panel for balancing.
I'm probably going to move to mixer+monitors setup once I get better monitors and use the HiFi stuff for movies, music and vinyl in different location.

I actually tested a pair of Philips noise cancelling headphones with the Sony V6 headphones and ended up enjoying the Philips more(can't remember model).

I did post on /hpg/, but no one responded.

Really settled down between the DH558's and the M50x( an apples to oranges thing) but I will look into the m50's.

Between those two, I could say a few more things:
>HD558's are easily modded to sound more like HD598's, which allow for a supreme soundstage. Not much else I can say given that I have the slightly better versions of both. I will say that I got my M50x's on ebay from a seller who listed them as having velour ear pads that were in an unsightly tomato red. Luckily, they included the original ear pads as well. However, because they were listed with the velour pads, nobody wanted to bid on them and I got them around $80 below market price, $70ish dollars below when factoring shipping. What I'm saying here is that you should look for deals and don't underestimate the snobbishness of audiophiles getting you some good deals.

Its either leakage you've missed somehow or the relative humidity is indeed extremely high inside the case thanks to watercooling (small leakage may play a part). Or the sticker glue quality reflects the quality of that psu.
