gpu is a HD7850, 2G, running on mesa/radeonsi (foss driver)

I guess with the proprietary driver you could get better performance.

probably, but the free one is more flexible, runs with the latest kernels, is more stable, and is fast enough for my purposes

Coulda got a 6850k or 5930k, 12 threads vs 8, and with a overclock to 4.5ghz you wouldn't be bottlenecking a gtx 560. 40 pcie lanes as well. Actually what is the purpose of 40 lanes with a shit processor? You can't sli with that thing.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

>>
>>56191564
Unlike you I actually know perfectly what the problem is, partly because I recognize what's going wrong by looking at the pattern of the screenshot itself, and partly because I can read error messages (unlike you).

I also know how to fix it. I just don't care. See you in some other thread, loser.
>>
>>56191552
>>56191561

I have had it for a little while and it runs anything I play right now. I don't have the time to put into playing a heavy amount of games at the moment so not too worried about upgrading, also life gets in the way.

Maybe when I have more time I will switch to an intel build. I do feel like their processors are a lot better. I was a full AMD build before. Hence staying with the AMD processor but switching to an nvidia card.

Maybe 2018 I will do a full rebuild.

>>
>>56192106
There's no point for SLI at 1080p. It won't really do anything, for a resolution that low you're almost literally burning cash for nothing. Future proofing with a $1200+ GPU setup is also pretty stupid, if you don't need $1200+ worth of GPUs now, why not buy a single $600+ 1080 now and spend the rest in 2 years when you need an upgrade?

They cleaned out my brothers checking account and closed the account. Bank sent a notice a week or two afterwards so he wasn't alerted. Auto garnished his paycheck at work. Was thinking of it. Problem is finding a second 980ti Classified that is ACTUALLY a 980ti classy. Apparently there are like 3 versions. 980ti classy GAMING, 980ti classy ACX (even though they all are ACX), and now there is a newer 980ti classy REF. (Literally a reference clocked 980ti chip with uncertain OC potential slapped onto the 980ti classy board.)

That and the price has to be right. Not going to pay $500 for a 2nd 980ti classy if I could get a brand new top binned 1070 for $450. How well would 980ti SLI hold up for 1440p?

okay after using your settings (1040 core, 1500 memory) on my 290 with 390 bios, I get pic related, which is pretty similar to yours, except I'm using older (potentially more stable?) drivers

a lot of those scores on OC.net I'm assuming are very high binned and/or watercooled, which is why some 7970s and 770s are hitting 2500

try upping the power limit and voltage, and aim for at least 1100 core and 1600 memory. maybe try rolling back drivers?
