Honestly senpai now that typewriters are obsolete using an abcde layout wouldn't be too bad
Honestly why are we still using qwerty?
Makes sense if your a hunt and peck typist, I guess.
>emblybing you don't know how to type and are incapable of learning.
>not using abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz keyboard

because the people who got used to typewriters are the ones who designed keyboards. people who got used to those keyboards have designed newer keyboards

Because typing is typing and it's been a standard for a long time.

fun fact: our current keyboards are the way they are because typists began to get too fast for the abcd layout. so our current keyboards are meant to slow down typing...... :DDD

Same reason keyboard numpads are inverted compared to phone numpads
>>56184070
wrong. qwerty was designed to prevent jams by moving letters that are next to each other in the most common words away from each other on the keyboard. the only thing it had to do with speed is some typists would type too quickly and jam up the typewriter with the old layout.

pretty sure that when they designed the qwerty and azerty key set it was based around what letters are used the most being on further keys from the center, or less easily accessible from touch typing.
Which is better, linotype or dvorak?
>not having a custom keyboard layout
/g/ i am dissapointed in you.

Its not like you can touchtype on those.

Because proficient typists on qwerty can type 130 WPM on average. Average typing speed for dvorak for proficient typists is maybe 135-140 WPM. Switching formats doesn't give enough marginal gain to make it worthwhile.
