CCleaner is primarily used to remove log files, temporary files, caches, backups etc. The built-in tool doesn't clear nearly as much as CCleaner, especially if you combine it with CCEnhancer. It doesn't make your computer faster but it can help protect against someone wanting to perform a forensic analysis of your disk.

Privazer is also good. It's better at wiping free space since it also clears the journals*.

If you want to clear the MFT** then the only program I know of is Paragon Hard Disk Manager.

The best is of course to use full disk encryption. That way it doesn't matter if you have any traces of your activities since the data is encrypted anyway.
