Bought an xbox off craigslist for $40. Anything cool I can do with it? For now I'll just be using it as a media streaming device

Hardmod it and install loonix on it.
Install gentoo

put a Pi with retropi on it
Nope. Nothing in particular. Only thing is maybe flashing the drive to play burnt games, although there is really nothing to play besides halo and gears.

HAHAHAHAHAHA
Seriously that's the worst idea ever.

That's what I was thinking, but without Halo 1/2 servers there's really no point.

Play halo 3.
>>56161747
Yea there really isn't. It's really hard to flash the drive too and it's impossible without buying a lot of things. I ended up selling my 360 for like 80 bucks. No point in playing 720p games that look like ass. My ps3 however has cfw on it and there's a ton of games I really want to play on it.

If you own a fat it's literally as easy as disassembling it, plugging in your dvd drive to a sata connector, and flashing. I've done it.

What's wrong with PPC Linux again? I run it all the time on my POWER7 box.

Yea, I've used my e3 flasher on a couple of fats. The only thing that sucks is reapplying thermal paste. If you don't apply it correctly, your ps3 fan won't be silent while gaming. I remember hearing the wiiU might use the e3 similarly but... It looks like Nintendo doesn't care much about their consoles. Easiest consoles and handhelds to exploit. I keep the flasher installed because it makes the fat look "cool" with the leds.
