dark souls is poorly optimized so itll probably lag no matter what unless you have quad goyim i7 of the latest generation, goyim and sli gtx 1080s

Like someone said, it all depends on the game. But the FX 6300 should not hinder the experience.

In my experience, the only games that bottleneck it are GTA V and some other shit. I have an RX 480 8GB + FX 6300 running on 32GB of DDR3 RAM, and I have no problems wth 90% of the gaymes I play.

Consider getting the FX 8350 when Newegg has a sale.

With an FX6300 and an overclocked R9 280 DS1 runs like shit (but DS1 on PC will always do that), DS2:SoTF and DS3 run flawlessly.
