Mtp is shit by itself. I fucking hate google for making my moto G not connectable through direct usb. Literally my last android phone.

Don't blame windows. That's just ignorant. Mtp by default is Google fucking with android. Before, mtp was a choice and mass storage mode was the default. It was beautiful. So fast even in 2010. Your best option right now is removable Sd card and usb reader. Second best is using usb 3 or type c for faster transfers

Because it's the only fucking thing that even works on Windows (besides mass storage, which is old and has its own issues).

I'm pretty sure Windows phones use MTP as well. So do cameras that don't have Android.
Everyone has to suffer because MS can't make a decent protocol.

I just use airdroid now, might be a little slower but at least it doesn't fuck up as much

Mass storage mode was awesome. They only stopped it's use because they thought that their users were idiots and they wanted to make it fool proof. They didn't bother to make it an option
