Alright /g/, I am moving into my college dorm today and I am bringing my desktop with me. The drive is 5 hours, and Im afraid that If I bring the computer that the GPU will snap in two or worse, break my motherboar on the drive over. Is this a legitimate concern, and if so how do I prevent this from happening?

Forgot to mention that I am using a discrete GPU that is larger than the motherboard itself

Did you keep the box that your case shipped in? Put it tower in the styrofoam and back into the box, and mark which side of the box is the mobo facing up, then just lay the box down on the side so there isn't any pressure on your components

I did keep the box. Thanks a bunch kind stranger.
Just disconnect the GPU and carry it separately what's the problem

Make sure to keep it in an anti-static bag with more bubblewrap around it than you could wrap around your entire body.
You can /never/ have enough bubblewrap.

DO NOT keep the gpu in the case while traveling. Good luck in college friend
