I hate the community behind private trackers with a passion. They are the opposite of the spirit of sharing stuff, and their rules are absurd.
What.cd admins are a bunch of loosers with power delusions who want to dox every single person using their site. Most of other private trackers have ridiculous ratio rules where you either cheat, or spend absurd amounts of time, bandwidth and disk space downloading stuff you don't want so other people can download the same stuff they don't want either so you can barely keep a ratio.
I'm better off on public trackers, thank you. Or at least that is what I used to say, not that publichd and kat have fallen, and piratebay is a shadow of it's former self I'm starting to consier joining a private tracker again.
I don't have time for their ratio bullshit so I just use a custom patch against rTorrent that basically lies to the tracker the amount I have uploaded by simply multiplying it by 10. It is pretty much undetectable since it only amplifies the amount you have actually uplodaded and does not create uploads out of thin air. Of course I always seed everything that I download for as long as it is in the disk, but simply seeding is nowhere near enough on most trackers.
I will share invites without thinking twice, provided the other party shows they are not likely to get banned.
Now that I've been throughly honest regarding my view on private trackers, does anyone have an spare invite they are willing to share? General trackers greatly preferred, I'd rather not administrate more than one account. If you do, please send an email (not and invite!) to the one in the name field.

Motion pictures that are not an insult to one's intelligence, such as cinematographs or photoplays, however, work in almost any format.

"Transformers", "Bat Man" or "Too Fast and Furious" are total garbage even in 4k at 100 Mbit/s H.265.

Primer and 12 Angry Men are great even at 480p and low bit rate H.264.

Torrent releases are usually made by a reasonably big group who spends a lot of time doing that. Creating cracks, ripping stuff up and so on is not something one can do without spending a lot of time and/or money.

On a fucking gigabit connection on a VPS I owned AND using a 20x upload modifier I could barely keep my ratio at 0.2 if I only downloaded stuff I wanted. To get my ratio about 1 I needed to download the freeleech or the newer stuff that did not have a lot of seeder yet.

That is just finding partial workarounds to major problems.
The fact still is that being an uploader requires an investment of money, and mainly time which most people are not willing to do.
And that is perfectly OK. You need, and in fact can only have, so many producers. You don't need everyone to upload original stuff, have ridiculous ratios or multiple terabytes available for long term seeding.
My problem with private trackers is that they have totally unreasonable expectations from a regular user, even one who actually want to contribute within their time and money limits.
Enforcing a ratio of 0.2 for the average user should be more than enough to keep a healthy community, and that number should go down the more people are with very high ratios. Otherwise people are just competing among themselves for upload and everyone downloads less stuff because their ratio won't allow it. It is a stupid design.

Yes, it does. Your ISP sees you are torrenting; of course this can also be used legally, but it's no secret that it's mainly used for illegal activities. You are definitely more secure if you use a VPN, though, as already mentioned not many get caught for torrenting on private trackers.
WhatCD allows VPNs for torrenting, but do not login to their website with the VPN, as with most other private trackers.

My ISP uses dynamic IP addresses so mine change everyday and I also log in from my dormitory at my campus.

I also have barely upload on WCD in contrast to other private trackers.
I think the problem is that there are so many seedboxes on WCD and therefore others get barely to seed.
