I have a Sony vpcsa28gg with shit cooling, any way to upgrade it?

It's so bad that it throttles under load even with a good cooler pad.

Pic related is the cooling system they went with for a 26w AMD GPU and 35w sandy bridge cpu.

A fucking 1cm thick 5 cm long heatsink to cool down 61w of heat with a 20mm fan. Fuck Sony.

Can I improve this in any way? Maybe somehow force a bigger fan in there? Or solder a small heatpipe or 2 in the free spaces inside the laptop?

How much difference would good paste like Arctic silver make?

I'm currently using cooler master paste left over from my desktop.

What?

If you think that's bad, look at the ones in Macbook Pro 15s. Combined fans and heatsink size is smaller than that and it has 105W TDP worth of components.

Liquid metal paste. Costs around $8 for 3 gram syringe.

Where from? Ausfag so good shit isn't as common here

CoolLaboratory Liquid Pro
Or I'm pretty sure you can find some local brands manufacturing it. There is no actual difference tho.

Are the Chinese ones alright?

How about copper shims? Are they a bad idea?
>>
>>56142126
What about ceramic paste?

>copper shim
You already have copper-heatpipe interface, you don't need to add more thickness.
Look for "liquid metal"? not "oxide", it hass something like gallium alloy, or try looking at local hardware and electronic components stores. Also, liquid metal paste always comes in thin syringe with a needle.

yes, but not so much, it will throttle again in a years. I got i7 3630qm cleaning up + good thermal paste but cpu still reach 90 degree.

I'd also get one of those external fans that clip onto the exhaust and suck the hot air out, it makes a huge difference in airflow and can help cool your system. Ebay dude.

Won't fit. Sony put the exhaust in front of the screen, blocking half the vent.

Any good thermal paste/grease/liquid + cleaning the fan. That's all you can do internally, externally you can buy cooling pad for laptop.
