No, it's not impossible.

The Tor bundle developers have been working on this problem for a long time. The way to solve the problem is to make all Tor browser users look the same.

It's still an ongoing development problem. There are always new ways of fingerprinting a user. More broadly, the whole issue of application-layer attacks is still a big problem, especially since Firefox is such a big pile of buggy, vulnerable shit.
