Trying to get this bash shell string manipulation working, but it fails
IN="firsttext\nsecondtext"

IFS=$'\n' read -ra ARR <<< "$IN"
for i in "${ARR[@]}"; do
    echo $i
done
The output gives me:
firsttext

seco
dtext
I just want
firsttext
secondtext
What am I doing wrong?

Try: IFS="\n" with double quotes.
