MSI is good as well
its shame that sapphire let us down

why

At first I thought they actually meant to put a hexagram on the backplate (which is a symbol for braking a seal while pentagram is symbolizing a seal) but then I've heard that they did that as a mistake.
>>
>>56132305
i think it's funny
>>
The MSI and XFX are also good
>>
>>56132970
the XFX gets pretty noisy apparently
>>
had few Gigabyte models, no issues.. also loving their warranty
>flash wrong BIOS
>card bricked
>here, a new model for only a price difference
>rinse and repeat
>>
XFX and Sapphire are worth looking, my man.
>>
I'm going MSI because they have a UK base and get good reviews. Should be getting mine delivered Friday.
>>
>>56131418
Just get a gtx 1060
>>
>>56133358
Nawww mang. The MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X is £33 more to buy from my neck of the woods.

just buy the cheapest one and OC it, still better than RX 480
>>
>>56133630
>buy a card that is basically the same for more money
You do know that £33 is a lot of money, right?

Honestly the 1060 and 480 are extremely powerful cards and you won't need to replace them for a while.

there is no reason whatsoever to buy the RX 480 in europe

>there is no reason whatsoever to buy the RX 480 in europe
maybe they want the Vulkan/DX12 performance? maybe they want the extra VRAM? maybe they can't afford the extra $50-100?
>>
>>56133751
>vulkan/dx12 performance
buy a card in a couple of years time when d3d11 has been phased out

>extra VRAM
why? 6 GiB suffices for 1080p

>can't afford the extra $50-100
>>56133712
>>
>>56133751
All of those and also I hate Goysinc greedmongers.
>>
>>56133796
But I want to play DX12/Vulkan now.
>>
Wait, why is the sapphire version bad?
>>
no, only the sapphire, just like every AMD card
>>

You're right, but not in the way you think
>>
>>56133830
noisy and hot
>>

4gb suffices for 1440p

another good point. Freesync is so much cheaper than Gsync >>56133796
>>
>>56133822
>dx12
the games you play in d3d12 on rx480 will have similar performance in d3d11 on 1060
>vulkan
i think you meant to say doom

>>56133852
that proves my point

>>56133839
?

>>56133869
thats only relevant if you havent got a monitor yet
>>
>>56133950
sure, but I bet there's a lot of people who want to make the jump from 1080p to 1440 or even 2k soon, so I'm sure freesync/gsync will come come into the equation for some of them

for me, I know I'd rather get an AMD card, just because Freesync is ~$200 less than Gsync for the same specs. my friend almost didn't buy his 1070 because of Gsync prices, but ultimately he got the 1070 anyway, because best performance for his pricerange

I'm not saying it's a massive factor, but it's definitely something to consider
>>
>>56133950
RX 460 OC performs as good as RX 480

unless you give a shit about power usage
>>
>>56134136
i wanted to buy a 1440p monitor too, but ive got a 27" 1080p one now. when you're sat 50cm away it looks really good, i cant imagine switching any time soon.

>>56134156
i'll have to look into that, cheers.
>>
>>56134186
>i wanted to buy a 1440p monitor too, but ive got a 27" 1080p one now. when you're sat 50cm away it looks really good, i cant imagine switching any time soon.
I have a 1440p chink monitor I got for $50 used, and honestly I don't really notice the extra pickles. if I had paid $250 for the monitor new, or fucking $500 for a Dell or LG panel, I would've returned it within 2-3 hours

1440p is definitely better than 1080p, but not that noticeable a lot of the time
>>
>>56132819
What a missed opportunity for marketing.

"Breaking the seal... ON THE POWER OF GRAPHICS COMPUTING!"
>>
>>56134156
>RX 460 OC performs as good as RX 480

You mean RX 470
>>
>>56131418
Only? No.
I have two Nitro 480's, the top one runs warm but doesn't throttle.
>>
>>56134156
aftermarket 470 = stock 480
aftermarket 480 = stock 1060

if you're spending more than stock 1060 buy a 980
>>
>>56132305
Pretty sure that's the seal of Solomon not a star of David?
>>
>>56131418

why???
>>
>>56135087
3 > 2
why do you have t obe this stupid
>>
>>56133630
you do know rx480 does more teraflops. pretty sure its the better option for the long run
>>
>>56135096
4>3, why not 4??
>>
>>56135100
i put faith in benchmarks, not theoretical figures
>>
>>56135118
I dont play games, so I want the one with more computational power (and its even cheaper).
>>

the technology just isnt there yet

would you break her seal for her power of graphics computing?
>>

It has been done.

why did "sapphire let us down"

Seriously fuck nvidia with their g-sync.

this
I have a freesync monitor, now I can't even be tempted by the green fire jew

If nvidia had freesync support they would pick up a lot of AMD users.
