I have a 290x and the 1080 sits at about 200% performance of that in most games
my 290x in turn got close to 200% performance over my old 7950, which itself would BTFO any thing even a generation before that
i'd say coming from a 500 series card to a 1070 would net a 300% increase in performance, so long as the CPU matches it
