A new pebble steel is $99 you absolute mongoloid.
Who the fuck is going to buy your shitty used one for 9 bucks less?
Actually I drop my offer down to 20. It's probably stolen anyway

Would it look weird to wear a real watch on the left wrist and a smartwatch/faggot fitness thing on the right?
>>
>>56117527
It would look fucking retarded.
Why would you even need to ask that?
Wear the fitness thing when you go running or w/e and the normal one any other time.
>>
>>56117609
The more I think about it the more convient it is to have music controls/fitness garbage and shit on your wrist. But I like my mechanical watches too much not to wear them.
So hipster faggots can wear 60 armbands on each wrist and I can't wear a watch on each?
The only smartwatch I would be interested in though is the pebble classic.

>Seiko and PADI share a passion for the safety and enjoyment of divers and the marine environment through the support of Project AWARE™. Now, PADI and Seiko have partnered to release two PADI Special Edition diver’s watches this autumn.

>The Seiko Prospex PADI Special Edition Kinetic GMT Diver’s SUN065 uses Seiko’s Kinetic technology. The Seiko unique movement uses a rotor, powered only by body movement, to charge the battery. This watch features a modern version of the legendary two-layer case first seen in 1975 and affectionately nicknamed for it’s superficial resemblance to a can of “Tuna.” The build quality is excellent with clear dial printing, a smooth bezel and a solid crown.

>The Seiko Prospex PADI Special Edition Automatic Diver’s SRPA21 pays homage to a true classic: the 1970’s Seiko 150m mechanical diver’s watch. Its unique case and dial design led divers to nickname this model the “Turtle.” The watch features Seiko’s trademark easy-to-read, wide, clear hands. It’s a clean and simple diver’s watch, destined to become a trusted friend.

>Both special edition models gracefully feature PADI’s characteristic red and blue color on the dials and the bezels, and the PADI logo on the dials.

>Already, those digital airwaves are buzzing about these new analog watches; don’t miss the opportunity to own a piece of watch making and dive training history.

A lot of retards think they can get people to bid on their dogshit.
Most reasonable ones will accept a best offer when it's close to ending and no one bids. Got a lot of cheap thinkpads that way.

Buying watches does not fill the void. There is nothing left that I enjoy. Nothing makes me happy. Everything that should just makes me reflect and eventually depressed.
>>
>>56119728
You should have bought it, for whatever price, then when it arrived taken clear photos of the scratches and submitted a "not as described" complaint. You even have the reassurance from him that they were *not* scratches, so he would have literally forced himself to give you a full or partial (like the $5 you wanted) refund, when complaints are already nearly guaranteed to be met regardless. Then when it was over you could have told him to not be a smug asshole next time, forcing your hand. Then just polish off your new watch with some toothpaste and loathe in self-satisfaction.
>>
>>56120389
I've done that before
Bought a T61 for 50 bucks, then asked for 30 bucks back to get a new fan and keyboard.
It took like 2 weeks for him to get his head out the ass and accept that he didn't test the thing before sending it.

If I bid and win now though can't he use my messages as proof that I knew it was scratching before bidding? I would actually really like to fuck this faggot over.

I need your help deciding on a watch. I've got my mind set on a Suunto Core Crush, but the problem with it is that it's digital. Or is it? Can anyone who has the watch tell me whether or not it's possible to set an analog watch face?

Thanks. I might tell the new Gtx 1060 to fuck itself and get a watch instead.

The dial is pretty beat and the 3/6/9 indexes are probably a custom job, because the FAGGOT who did it likely used superglue and marked the dial at 9 (also 9 is crooked), but those are real tiny diamonds set in the middle of indexes. The caseback pick is of the inner side, the outer is scratched the fuck up. Movement is fine, I only had to replace three parts, the cannon pinion, the stem and the intermediate wheel for the date mechanism.

The mark at 9 is probably glue. The mark at 8 is probably moisture or dirt ingress. See the crack on the crystal at 2? I believe that crack was originally at 8, but I have taken the crystal off once.

I'm not sure if I can restore the original 12atm WR, the original crown is lost, and I believe the acrylic crystal is proprietary to Super Compressor cases, a normal domed acrylic won't do.

Labanda, look them up they sell watch tools in Sydney, brisbane, Melbourne
I would highly recommend them for proper tools.
The entry level stuff is out of sight compared to the chinese shit.
You apply for an account, tell them you are a hobbiest.
I got a pretty complete set of tools for $150 and the loupe on top of that.

As for the shitter you can have it back if you want but i tried to use 7009 parts to fix it.
Long story short it didn't work
>>

Buy a good set of screwdrivers and look up ceramic tweezers they use for vaping.
The chinese tools aside from those will do, i bought one of those $20 kits they have a aussie fleabay.
Loupe is super helpful too.
Labanda has an entry level set of screwdrivers for $25
The tweezers might set you back $10
The ones in the kit are shithouse
Get a cheap magnifier from ebay at least.
And a desk lamp. I got an awesome one from bunnings for $15
Kmart have these beige pvc dinner mats for $1 that are great to work on and you can get chinese watch oil for $2 on ebay

That's about everything
So on the cheap look at $80 depending on what you already have

>>
What's the cheapest price for a watch with the movement one step above the 6R15?
What movement is it, is it a luxury one (decorated, regulated etc.)?
>>
>>56125916
All depends.
Usually more accurate movements/ higher grade movements tend to have more decoration simply to set it apart aesthetically from the less accurate variants.

Miyota 9015, 6R15, and ETA 2824 are all on par at the base level.

2824-2 Elaboré is present in the OVM, priced at about £315/$400

6R15 is present in the Obris Morgan Explorer 2, priced at about £280, when actually available.

And the 9015 gets around so much I can't even think of a decent example.

6R15 has the longest running life, and is probably the most reliable.

2824 blows them both out of the water at the top grade though, even a push at Elaboré in terms of accuracy.

If you're looking for something "One step up" from the 6R15, then you're really going to be looking at something toting a Top Grade 2824.
>>
>>56126053
>6R15 is present in the Obris Morgan Explorer 2, priced at about £280, when actually available.

Obris Morgan has never used a Seiko movement. They purely used Miyota, 9015 in recent models and 8215 in their oldest models.

As far as fake watches go, they're all shit. Some franken-watches are nice (ETA/ETA clone movements, real cases, real dials, hands, etc), but I wouldn't buy one myself. Too much negative space on the dial. The 24 hour scale in the white version is basically invisible, and there's absolutely no texture or reflective surface for light to interact with, so the whole thing looks boring, unlike the JLC Master Control it's imitating. The black dial version in that picture looks alright, and I like the way their infantry watches look. (I owned a quartz Swiss Army branded watch when I was a kid, which is why I got the Victorinox in the first place.)

Mühle is pretty reasonably priced. Tutima moved back to Glaschutte recently and had a while new line-up, so their classic stuff can be had used/NOS for a pretty g good price. I got pic related near mint condition used for $550

Let us not forget the Mars watch being designed by Buzz Aldrin.

So what does it need? I'd say local time (sol) and indicator for Deimos, Phobos and Earth.

So the lugs on my Casio gshock rangeman broke. Guess that's what I get for using 3d printed NATO strap adapters. Casio won't replace it as a defect because it's considered external. And my 2 year Amazon warranty ended the beginning of the month. Initially I thought the adapter broke so I had bought 2 metal adapters for $40 and a metal faceplate bezel to match for $80. Only to find the internals broke this morning.
Fuck me right. Can't return the faceplate to China and I can't return the 3d printed parts to shapeways.
Oh well, guess I have to buy a completely new watch to use these new parts.

The idea about the indicator for Earth (specifically if it is above the horison and not colinear with the sun) is to indicate when communications will be up or down.

How about Orient Bambino. You can get it off creation watches or longisland watches. There may also be other sellers that have a decent deal on them but those two generally do.

As a general rule with less expensive watches, things that are 'gold' are plated, and may look worse with wear.

Something like a ER24005W from Creation would be great on it's own for like $130~, or if you want to push towards that 250 dollar mark you could include something with the watch. Like silver cufflinks or a silver tie clip or money clip.
>>

Buzz Aldrin has been working on developing and arguing for a Martian mission since like the 1970s.

There is even a potential Martian trajectory method and transit vehicle named after him, that he helped devise.

That old 90+ pilot knows more about what it takes to get to Mars than most. I would say his input is valuable.

Both Elabore and Top are considered to be dogshit in the horologic world. The 2824 in the BB is Chronometre class. There is not much difference besides the incabloc(besides glucydur balance which is just a differen color, no performance improvements) which if you notice on the clear back Steinhart is present.
