This is standard for any of the big guys, Optus, and Telstra mainly are the ones I'm seeing with shit prices
Do not ever go Dodo tho, they may be cheap but boy is it atrocious
>>

Is it true they still use ADSL?
>>
>>56105096
Atm we're getting NBN rolled out which is fibre optic. Shame the gov want to do a cable to node and use the existing copper lines to house.
But in rural we got ADSL1 still, not even ADSL2
>>
$90/m unlimited calls and texts with 20GB of mobile data with Telstra. I'm pretty happy with it.

Yeah phone plans are nice, home net not so much.
Im on prepaid $30 unlimited calls to Telstra number, free texts to aussy numbers and 3gb of data

I've got ADSL 2 in rural QLD, connects pretty low though at 9824 kbps down 1024 kbps up and I literally live next to the exchange.

This is suffering, especially with how autistic the NBN. Despite having fibre about 700m down the road, there's no plan on bringing it any further our direction at all.

We're stuck with Adam WiMAX at the absolute border of their closest tower, Telstra refuses to supply us cable internet, fuck Optus, and the copper cables are so bad we can't get anything else.

That's precisely why you have good internet, you retard.

Real countries laid internet lines 30+ years ago and are stuck on ancient copper infrastructure that costs millions or even billions to replace with fiber on a national scale (especially huge, spread out countries like the US, Canada and Australia)

Your ex-soviet shithole got internet lines laid after fiber already existed and as such already has the lines laid to provide that internet to people.

This is pretty decent considering I live in rural Northern Territory
Paying $70/month for Unlimited/ no contract fixed wireless
Don't start to complain until you're forced to use Satellite @ ~1mb/s, 1200ms Ping for Six years

Also using a cheap 802.11b PCI adaptor with the shittest TP-link router possible

Eventually i'll carry on through to a ~1700mb/s router/adaptor combo but everything's working fine so no worries
