Has anyone bought a robotics kit before?
What are some good ones that aren't for 12yo?
Would it be better to buy a kit, or to buy parts seperately?
Also, if you have built some of your own, please share!

that is fucking awesome. I'd like to make that but i think i should start with something that isn't a life sized creepbot. I'd have to keep it in my room and if that thing moved while i was in bed i'd shit myself.

Its a nice little toy, it gave me a reason to get a 3d printer. And I had many fucking issues. If you have the money, 3d print parts, learn how servos work with a raspberry pi or arduino, and make your own shit. No need for kits just learn it yourself.

what 3d printer do you use?
>Implying /g is anything but angry indian shills or /v manchildren bashing anything that it's not Windows.
This board is dead man, go for /sci.

Printrbot Play with extended y Axis.
Some parts did not fit and I had to make fixes for almost every part. It eventually worked though.

I think about this fact every time i try to create a new thread. Maybe I should migrate to /sci/ as there does seem to be too much of gpu comparison, distro bashing, and the ever lovely programming threads that ultimately are just there for people to yell about why their programming language is the best instead of talking about actual programming.
Thanks for making me sad, brotendo
