Has your X61 developed the pump rattle yet? I've owned a X31, X61, and more recently the X61, and all developed a pump rattle after 3 months. RMA'd and got replacements (and eventually upgrades), but they just ended up with the rattle problem too.

Personally would not recommend NZXT AIO coolers until they fix their shit.
>>
>>56093131
>I've owned a X31, X61, and more recently the X61
should be X31, X61, and X41
>>
>>56093131
People shouldn't even be buying AIO's. it's custom loop or then go air.
You are risking 'mostly' much more valuable hardware in hands of a crappy quality watercooling kit that is outperformed by high-end air coolers.

>>
>>56094195
Absolutely terrible
>>
>>56093131
No. My pump is perfectly silent. Here's two pointers:
> The tubes should ideally be on the bottom of the rad (like mine) this is the "proper" way of doing it as it prevents air bubbles from entering the pump area.
> Don't use the "silent" setting on CAM. If you don't use CAM, then it's always using "silent". The silent setting is bugged and always has been. It causes the pump to rev. Either use the "performance" setting or just a fixed fan profile.

NZXT had a good idea with a PWM pump, but it's actually not that great.

>>56094042
Most new (<5 years) cases include dust filters. My case is also under my desk, but also off the ground. So dust intake is minimal.

It was called PATA. They made it so that one hard drive could be the master and the other hard drive could be the slave. I hear WD blacks make good slave drives.

This just shows you dont know much.

The GTX 960 is not a good gaming card, HOWEVER it is the most advanced hardware encoding/decoding available in the 9xx series, more advanced than the GTX 970, 980, and 980Ti.
For anyone who isn't gaming, the GTX 960 makes far more sense since it supports HEVC hardware encode/decode (unlike the hybrid hardware/software decode that is done by GTX 970, 980, and 980Ti

Did you really think with a 5820k, 32GB RAM, and 17TB of hard drives this was a gaming computer?

I will be changing my build as the Ti's come out and water blocks. Will be going back to a normal case, replacing tubing with UV red color, white fittings and I will bend the tubes instead of using all these elbows.

My biggest problem is finding a case that will house the following:
Dual 480 rads or the equivalent (1x480, 2x 240 etc).
Dual Reservoirs (setting up 1 loop for mobo, ram and cpu and another for the GPU's).

Mostly just that it's a waste of money. Also though people sometimes used leds in an attempt to disguise an otherwise ugly build. The end result is usually just cheesy

>Founder's Edition
Yes. They will both be watercooled, so, I went with the cards that were most accessible to me. There were two of these at a local Best Buy which I got at a significant discount because they fucked up.

>Meme cooler
It does really decent considering it's compact size, and is quiet. A great cooler for the testing stage.

>Corsair RAM
There's literally nothing wrong with it.

>ASUS Motherboard
They make some of the best. Don't see how this is an issue

>Intel SSD
Do you even know good PC hardware? The 730 series are among the best consumer-grade SSD's out there, that aren't NVMe.

>Watercooling not attached
Yes, because I wanted to air-test everything thoroughly and make sure it was fine, which is a smart thing to do. If you think otherwise, you're retarded and aiming to give yourself headaches. And I'm glad I air tested it also, as I had to do a lot of trouble shooting involving removing cards and the board at one point.

Try using valid things to complain about next time.

It does, but given the over-all amount of airflow and radiator space, the loop has adequate cooling potential to not make it an issue.

That was my issue with my M1 build. Was that I didn't really have any option but to either go from CPU to GPU, or GPU to CPU. It made the other run hotter than normally.

Yeah most loops are at least 1 gallon per minute. I'm not good with maths but depending how much water you have in the system it'll loop around quite a lot.

Let's take a GPU+CPU combo that is producing 400W heat input for the loop to dissipate, and a typical pump that operate in the 1500-500l/h range. Due to waters high heat capacity of 4.18 J/(K*cm**3) it only takes temperature difference dT between the hot and cold sides of the radiator of only:
400W=dT*500l/h*4.1796J/(K*cm**3)
dT=0.7deg

to get rid of the produced heat. I.e the last component in the loop is getting at most a deg hotter water than the first.

The loop running hot is a sign that the radiator-to-air heat exhange is not able to handle the heatload it is asked to dissipate without the temperature difference between the ambient air and radiator rising that high. Solution to that is more airflow through the rad and/or bigger rad

I wish I was good as you guys at this.

I don't have much money. I need a better job than being a Janitor.

Waiting for a new exhaust fan and GPU, local retailers don't have any stock.

Bought it for the 5 year warranty, since intel isn't too keen on improving the mainstream offerings that's probably how long I'm at least going to keep using this setup.

Build my first computer today. Felt pretty lost for a while but got the hang of it and got it up and running without any issues.

I'm installed a CD drive when it arrives in a few days, so I'll try and clean up my cables then because they look like utter shit right now.

Problem is, I have a pretty small case (Cooler Master N200), and running my cables to be hidden left them rather bunched up. I've very little experience with builds so I didn't know if cables were affected by being pressured by the case cover. Excuse my newfagness

That's a relief. I might just share my /guts/ when I clean up the cables :^)
